چکیده
An L(h, 1, 1)-labeling of a graph is an assignment of labels from the set of integers {0, · · · , λ} to the vertices of the graph such that adjacent vertices are assigned integers of at least distance h ≥ 1 apart and all vertices of distance three or less must be assigned different labels. The aim of the L(h, 1, 1)-labeling problem is to minimize λ, denoted by λh,1,1 and called span of the L(h, 1, 1)-labeling. As outerplanar graphs have bounded treewidth, the L(1, 1, 1)-labeling problem on outerplanar graphs can be exactly solved in O(n), but the multiplicative factor depends on the maximum degree ∆ and is too big to be of practical use. In this paper we give a linear time approximation algorithm for computing the more general L (h, 1, 1)-labeling for outerplanar graphs that is within additive constants of the optimum values.

L(h, 1)-labeling subclasses of planar graphs
L(h, 1)-labeling, h = 0, 1, 2, is a class of coloring problems arising from frequency assignment in radio networks, in which adjacent nodes must receive colors that are at least h apart while nodes connected by a two long path must receive different colors. This problem is NP-complete even when limited to planar graphs. Here, we focus on L(h, 1)-labeling restricted to regular tilings of the pla...

An L(2, 1)-labeling of a graph G is an assignment of a nonnegative integer to each vertex of G such that adjacent vertices receive integers that differ by at least two and vertices at distance two receive distinct integers. The span of such a labeling is the difference between the largest and smallest integers used. The λ-number of G, denoted by λ(G), is the minimum span over all L(2, 1)-labeli...

Let $A$ be an abelian group. A graph $G=(V,E)$ is said to be $A$-barycentric-magic if there exists a labeling $l:E(G)longrightarrow Asetminuslbrace{0}rbrace$ such that the induced vertex set labeling $l^{+}:V(G)longrightarrow A$ defined by $l^{+}(v)=sum_{uvin E(G)}l(uv)$ is a constant map and also satisfies that $l^{+}(v)=deg(v)l(u_{v}v)$ for all $v in V$, and for some vertex $u_{v}$ adjacent t...

For any h in N , a graph G = (V, E) is said to be h-magic if there exists a labeling l: E(G) to Z_{h}-{0} such that the induced vertex set labeling l^{+: V(G) to Z_{h}} defined by l^{+}(v)= Summation of l(uv)such that e=uvin in E(G) is a constant map. For a given graph G, the set of all for which G is h-magic is called the integer-magic spectrum of G and is denoted by IM(G). In this paper, the ...
متن کاملLabeling Schemes for Bounded Degree Graphs
We investigate adjacency labeling schemes for graphs of bounded degree ∆ = O(1). In particular, we present an optimal (up to an additive constant) log n+ O(1) adjacency labeling scheme for bounded degree trees. The latter scheme is derived from a labeling scheme for bounded degree outerplanar graphs. Our results complement a similar bound recently obtained for bounded depth trees [Fraigniaud an...
